Typhoon Yutu to Graze China

As of November 1, Typhoon Yutu, is currently a tropical storm over the northeastern South China Sea and moving very slowly to the northeast. A hostile environment will likely cause Yutu to lose its low-level circulation and be declared a tropical rainstorm by the end of the week. There will be impacts later in the week and through the weekend in the projected impact zone highlighted in red. About 35 million people reside in the impact zone and about 300,000 homes will lose power. We estimate about 10,000 evacuees.
