Oct 22 Typhoon Lan expected to Make Landfall in Japan

Typhoon Lan is expected to make landfall on Sunday night, local time, in eastern Honshu. The sheer enormity of the storm will even cause significant impacts for areas that are well removed from the center of the storm including 64 kt winds in Eastern Tokyo combined with meter high storm surge. Rain totals of 5-10 inches are expected in Shikoku and Honshu with over 20 inches in some areas. Owase was inundated with 24.81 inches of rain since Friday. In Tokyo, 15.71 inches of rain fell over the weekend.
