Maria a Category 3 as it passes Taipei

As of 1200 on July 9, 2018, Maria is forecast to remain a Category 3 as it passes near the northern edge of Taipei as well. Even if Maria doesn’t make landfall there, it’s likely to drop up to 12 inches of rain over the hilly terrain. Flooding in Taipei will result in major outages north of the node in Nantou.  Restoration efforts may require separating the grid into two parts with the south taking much longer to restore than the north.  Monitor at www.almeriaanalytics.com/blog.
